360 house
On top of a high plateau, among almond trees and overlooking Valdeavellano and the Sierra de Ayllón, this site has been chosen to build a simple home for someone connected to reflection, writing, and books. The house sits at the highest part of the plot, sheltered by a slope with almond trees to the north and views from the ground floor over a small, gently terraced south-facing valley.
Living room, dining room, kitchen, bedroom, tool room, guest room, and a terrace under a portico that frames the landscape are all located on the ground floor. On the upper floor, there is a studio, a library, and a lookout with 360º views. The opacity and sense of refuge of the ground floor—built entirely of calcareous tuff stone—contrast with the lightness and transparency of the upper floor, designed in glass and ultra-slim metal profiles; like a lantern that can be dimmed with a heavy curtain to ensure privacy, acoustic comfort, and thermal control—much like the rotating beam of a lighthouse that oscillates between light and shadow. It is a place for observation, introspection, and writing in the heart of nature.
